They are only a phone call away.
But outsourced call centre specialists, Res-Q Contact Services Ltd, said it was leaps ahead of the rest of the industry in the way it cares about its callers and its staff.
The Financial Services Authority accredited company, started in 2005, is a contender for the Business Link Humber-sponsored Hull Mail Start-up Business Of The Year award and also the Royal Bank of Scotland-backed Small Business Of The Year award.
Its founder, Gill Marchbank, is also contesting the Gosschalks Solicitors-sponsored Young Businessperson Of The Year award.
Res-Q originally began with 18 staff, but is now a 90-seat call centre, has 110 employees and is set for further growth.
The company, based in Chariot House, Carr Lane, city centre, already has an impressive list of clients, which includes two large insurance companies, a leading mobile phone network, the UK’s largest digital television provider and a prestigious fixed line phone company for businesses.
“We reinvest in our people,” said Ms Marchbank.
“We are going against the grain of other call centres by offering career opportunities.
“The result is we have had a very impressive year and that is because of our commitment to quality, our hard-working staff and our clients.
“We believe we have brought a fresh outlook to the world of outsourcing with our experience of designing, implementing and managing complex customer contact strategies and by having a transparent approach to our relationship with clients.”
Ms Marchbank has extensive experience of the set-up and management of call centres across Europe and in Australia.
This, combined with Res-Q’s location and technology, has proved to be a winning combination.
“A robust systems infrastructure gives us a unique approach to outsourcing,” said Ms Marchbank.
“It means our clients can have as much or as little involvement in the running of their programmes as they want and can see minute-by-minute what is happening in the call centre.
“Hull offers all the right ingredients to stand with any call centre location in the UK.
